Everquest 2
This article will describe the MMORPG Everquest 2.
First of all, let’s take a look at what MMORPG actually means. MMORPG stands for Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game. In the past, MMORPG’s have become ever more popular. One of the earliest MMORPG’s was World of Warcraft, which is one of the games which started the trend.
Whereas the earlier games like World of Warcraft had several modes, while the online mode was only of them, the newest MMORPG’s are totally focused on the online mode. This is also the case for Everquest 2, which is only available as an online game.
Everquest 2 was developed by Verant Interactive, and is distributed by Sony Online Entertainment in the USA, by Ubisoft in the European Union and by Square Enix in Japan.
Everquest 2 is all about choosing a character, and exploring with it the gigantic world of Everquest 2. It is possible to choose between 19 different races and 24 different classes. It is possible to get into fights with other players, as well as teaming up with other players to launch a raid. This feature is called raid and is an improvement to Everquest 1.
Everquest 2 is all about the planet Norrath, which has several different locations. One of them is Freeport, which can be described as an urban city. Another city is Qeynos, which looks like an old-age town, and is in much better shape than Freeport. Everquest 2 also features several islands.
In Everquest 2 the overall goal is to gain XP (XP stands for Experience Points). Gaining more Experience points will lead to a higher level, until one reaches the highest level. Not all classes are able to reach the highest level on their own, some of them will have to form groups in order to achieve this goal.
